How to Explore the Search strategies

This is where you create and manage search strategies to collect research data.

In the search strategies management, you are able to build search strategies to pull data and evidence from multiple databases to connect to external data sources to query research data.

You can use the scroll bar at the right-hand side of the screen to navigate up and down the library of results. You can also filter this data by a name or description search, and the Status or Types dropdown.

Each found search strategy is interactive; click to view.

Each is set out in 3 sections: the description, OpenAlex records and filters.

Each record is interactive; click to open. You will be able to see the metrics, authors and the option to view the full article.

In the filter section, you can define your results by using keywords, 'sort by', publication years, work types, citation count and languages. Press ‘Apply Filter’ to see your new results.

You have the options to Configure and Edit Details. At the top right-hand corner of the screen, click on either option.

Inside the Configure page, you will be able to set up default search parameters for the chosen data source. To complete the page, press the‘ Save Configuration’ button.

Inside the Edit Data page, you can update the details for your chosen data source. To complete the update, click ‘Save Changes’.

On the main page of search strategies, at the top right-hand corner, you will see the ‘+ Add Search Strategies’ button.

In this section, you will be able to connect a new data source to import research data.

To begin, select a search strategy type: clinical trials or OpenAlex. Click to open.

Once you have selected the search strategies type, fill in the configuration form and click ‘Create Search Strategies’ to complete. For more details, see How to write a search strategy for X.
